AAFs goal for the Adopt-a-Kid program is to find supporters who will sponsor children who are less fortunate and do not get the opportunity to attend live theatre.  Children should have the opportunity to experience art as an inspiration and be encouraged to reach their creative potential.  This program is dedicated to the exposure, education, and enrichment of those in the community who otherwise would not have the opportunity.  Through this program we hope to inspire, encourage, and cultivate the arts in our youth.

We have been able to invite kids from the Boys & Girls Club, Rainbow Services, 1736 House, YMCA, YWCA, New Life Program, Children's Institute, Zenith Foster Agency, and local elementary schools to such performances as, Kanata Native American Dancers, Diablo Dance Company, Aesop’s Fables - Live on Stage, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and most recently Join the Circus - A Family Musical.  Through this outreach program we are able to inspire, encourage, and motivate the minds of our young people.

Dear Dan,

Thank you so much for your invitation to attend the Best of Broadway Summer Camp Performance. The youth that went thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were inspired by the performances. They sat in the front row and were enthralled for the entire time. Your events are first class and demonstrate the quality of your program. Congratulations on staging a great event. Thanks for thinking of us.

Sincerely,

Karen Reside
Director of Program Development

Dear Mr. Watt,

Thank you very much for your kind donation. Your gift of 40 tickets to “Kanata Native American Dance” which helps women and children recovering from lives of trauma. For clients served by Rainbow Services, the support of their community brings a sense of belonging and aids their healing. As you know, many of Rainbow’s clients come to us with very little. As they struggle emotionally to develop lives free from violence, they also struggle financially. We thank you on behalf of the women and children we serve.

Sincerely,

Linda Alexander
Development Manager & Volunteer Coordinator
